Terms of service

Last updated 4 September 2026

Using Liniyan means agreeing to these. They are written plainly on purpose, because terms nobody reads protect nobody.

What Liniyan is

A sales CRM with AI features, provided as a subscription. We run it, keep it available, and improve it. You use it to run your own sales.

Your account

You are responsible for what happens under your account and for the people you invite into your workspace. Keep your sign in secure. Tell us if you think someone else has access.

You must be old enough to enter a contract where you live, and you must not use Liniyan for anything unlawful.

Your data is yours

Everything you put into Liniyan remains yours. We claim no ownership of your leads, notes, templates or recordings, and we do not use your content to train AI models or to build anything we sell to others.

You can export it whenever you like. If you leave, take it with you.

What not to put in Liniyan

Liniyan is a sales CRM. It is built to hold business contacts, conversations and deals, and it is secured for that. Some kinds of information need protections beyond what a CRM provides, and putting them here creates obligations for both of us that neither of us wants.

Do not store:

This applies to call transcripts as much as to notes. If a conversation strays into health detail or someone reads out a card number, delete that transcript rather than leaving it on the record.

If you store this kind of information anyway, you do so at your own risk and you accept responsibility for the consequences. We may remove it if we become aware of it.

Recording calls

Liniyan can record and transcribe a phone call or a video meeting. Whether you may lawfully do that is your responsibility, not ours.

The law differs by state and by country, and it differs more than most people expect. Some places require only that one party knows. Others require everyone on the call to consent. Some treat a phone call differently from a meeting. Getting it wrong can be a criminal offence, not merely a civil one.

Check the law where you and the other party are. Not where Liniyan is, and not where your head office is. If you are unsure, get advice before you record.

By recording through Liniyan you confirm you have whatever consent the law requires, and you accept responsibility for that. We provide the tool. We cannot know who is on your call or where they are.

A practical way to handle it

Most people find a short line at the start of a call is enough to be straightforward about it, and it tends to land well rather than badly:

"Just so you know, we use Liniyan to take notes during our calls. We don't keep the recordings, it just helps us keep track of what we discuss so we can serve you properly."

That is accurate: Liniyan discards the audio once it has been transcribed and keeps only the text. Said plainly it usually reassures people, because it explains why you are listening carefully rather than sounding like a legal notice.

It is not legal advice and it may not satisfy every jurisdiction. Where all party consent is required, you need their agreement and not merely their awareness.

AI output

Liniyan's AI writes drafts, summaries and suggestions. It is a tool, not a colleague, and it can be wrong.

Read what it writes before you send it. You are responsible for anything that leaves your account, whether you wrote it or Liniyan drafted it. We are not liable for a claim made in an email you sent, a figure that turned out to be wrong, or a deal lost because a summary missed something.

What you pay

Subscriptions are per seat, per month, in Australian dollars, and are billed in advance. Cancel whenever you like and your access continues to the end of the period you have paid for. We do not refund part months.

AI features and transcription carry a monthly allowance per seat, described in the fair use policy. Company research runs on credits bought separately. Nothing bills automatically when you reach a limit.

If prices change we will give you a month's notice, and the change takes effect at your next renewal rather than immediately.

Availability

We aim to keep Liniyan running at all times but do not guarantee it. It depends on services we do not control, including Google, Anthropic, OpenAI and Cloudflare. If one of those is down, part of Liniyan will be too.

We will tell you about planned work in advance where we can.

What we may do

We may suspend an account that is being used unlawfully, that is not paid, or that is damaging the service for others. Where the situation allows, we will contact you first.

We may change how Liniyan works. If we remove something you rely on, we will tell you before we do.

Ending it

Cancel any time in Settings. We may close an account with 30 days' notice, and would refund anything paid for beyond that.

Export your data before you go. We delete a closed workspace within 30 days.

Liability

Australian Consumer Law gives you guarantees that cannot be excluded, and nothing here limits those.

Beyond that, our liability is limited to what you paid us in the twelve months before the claim. We are not liable for lost profit, lost business or lost data beyond that amount.

The rest

These terms are governed by the law of Queensland, Australia. If we change them materially we will email you first. If part of them turns out to be unenforceable, the rest still applies.
